Abstract
This article reviews the current information regarding the value of different tests of lung function in patients undergoing abdominal or thoracic surgery. Risk factors as well as the pathophysiology of postoperative pulmonary complications are also discussed. Finally, a rational approach synthesizing clinical features with pulmonary function test results to estimate risk and minimize complication is presented.Entities:
