Abstract
Dermatitis and vasculitis of the skin covering the sternum of a calf with bovine leukocyte adhesion deficiency was observed. The calf had been conceived through artificial insemination, delivered by cesarean section, and placed in a gnotobiotic isolator. Dermatitis was noticed at 54 days of age and was not responsive to antibiotic or ivermectin treatment. Proteus sp, Enterobacter sp, and Candida tropicalis were isolated from skin specimens. The lesion was characterized by lymphoplasmacytic and histiocytic inflammation with vasculitis and thrombosis.Entities:
