The evolution of a cytogenetics education program.

An educational program in clinical cytogenetics was initiated in 1983 at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, through the Medical Technology Program in the School of Allied Health Sciences. Through the years the program has evolved into a more efficient curriculum, with the possibility of becoming a part of a master's degree program in allied health sciences. It is hoped that a description of the program will be of help to other educational institutions that may be contemplating the establishment of a similar course of study.
