Abstract
Two cases of enamel pearls present in the furcation area of primary mandibular second molars are reported. Clinical and histologic examination revealed that the pearls were composite enamel pearls. Complications arising from this uncommon entity may include delayed exfoliation of the primary tooth and/or deviation of the succedaneous tooth. Radiographic interpretation and detection of the enamel pearl may be complicated by the superimposition of the developing permanent tooth, and their incidence may be higher than reported.Mesh:
