Abstract
A 3-year-old bull was examined because of a fluctuant mass on the ventral midline of the cranial portion of the cervical area. The mass originally developed after the bull was handled in a squeeze chute for routine health care. The mass was aspirated and incised repeatedly during the 18 months before referral. The mass was excised at the referral center, and the histologic diagnosis was dermoid cyst. The mass had not redeveloped by 18 months after surgery. Dermoid cysts are most often seen in Rhodesian Ridgeback dogs, although a similar condition has been reported in a 5-week-old calf.Entities:
