Lumbar disc herniation in the pediatric patient.

Abstract

Herniated lumbar discs are rare in teh pediatric population. The clinical features,diagnostic modalities, and treatment are discussed in detail.The overall surgical results have been excellent in more than 90% of patients in most series. The differences between children and adults with herniated lumbar discs are emphasized.
