Functional intraperineal pouch of rectal wall (posterior rectocele).

We have identified 18 cases of functional pouch of the posterior rectal wall visualized by defecography. In the absence of previous evidence in the literature, we named this anomaly "posterior rectocele" and studied it from the clinical, radiologic, and endoscopic points of view.
