Abstract
Coronary arterial fistulae are rare congenital cardiac defects that typically are treated by surgery. A case of transcatheter closure of a left anterior descending coronary artery to right ventricular fistula with a detachable balloon is described in a 16-month-old child. The fistula was easily occluded without complication. Follow-up 1.5 years later revealed normal ventricular function and no recurrence of the fistula. Detachable balloon occlusion of coronary arterial fistula is feasible in patients as young as 4 months.Entities:
