Abstract
Relaxation of the posterior compartment may involve the upper, middle, and/or lower portion of the posterior vaginal wall and result in a variety of disorders including enterocele, rectocele, and perineal defects. When symptomatic, singly, or in combination with other abnormalities, they deserve full evaluation and surgical correction. Their management and technical considerations for repair and prevention of recurrence are outlined including fecal incontinence.Entities:
