Medium chain triglycerides in the management of chylous fistulae following neck dissection.

Abstract

The physiology of fat absorption and its relevance to chylous fistula following neck dissection is discussed. Three patients with postoperative chylous fistulae were successfully managed conservatively using medium chain triglycerides as a substitute for normal dietary fat.
