Abstract
In this work, we show that antibodies to baculovirus recombinant DNA polymerase of human cytomegalovirus are present in human sera during natural infection. Specific antibody was found to be of the immunoglobulin G class, produced at low titers only for a short period of time at the beginning of acute infection and not detectable in sera from patients with a convalescent or a latent phase of infection. These results were compared with those obtained with procaryotically expressed p52, the polymerase accessory protein.Entities:
