Abstract
We report a case of a boy with a long-standing foreign body aspiration in the left main bronchus causing severe pneumonia of the left lung. During intravenous therapy with antibiotics there was a life-threatening event with acute dislocation of the foreign body into the right main bronchus, leading to acute respiratory insufficiency. We conclude that in chronic foreign body aspiration antibiotic therapy preceding bronchoscopy should only be performed in in-patients and with strict monitoring.Entities:
