Rapid two point kenetic determination of plasma lactic acid.

W S Matthews, R E Sterling.

Abstract

1. Plasma levels of L-lactic acid were determined employing a two-point kinetic, lactic dehydrogenase method without a protein free filtrate preparation. 2. The method was characterized with regards to precision, linearity, recovery and accuracy. 3. Regression analyses were accomplished by comparison of the kinetic and standard enzymatic end point procedures. 4. Clinically significant values are obtained within 50% less time than routine methods presently employed.
