This Article frames the debate over the merits of the Canadian system by introducing its basic features, exploring its advantages, and discussing its limitations. In evaluating the prospects for a Canadian-type system in the United States, the author focuses on the need to rethink--as Canada has--the viability of market-based approaches to health care.
