Abstract
Three experienced tennis players used earplugs to deprive them of auditory information when playing tennis matches. They lost more games in the auditory-deprived condition than in the condition without earplugs. Their ability in receiving the service decreased although ability to deliver the service did not. These observations suggest that multisensory information is used in an adaptive manner when playing tennis.Mesh:
