Abstract
UNLABELLED: The miniplate eminoplasty is a technically easy, extra-articular procedure for surgical treatment of TMJ-dislocation with a predictable functional result. OPERATIVE TECHNIQUE: A conventional preauricular incision is made. With the condyle in the therapeutic position the eminoplasty miniplate is inserted anterior to the articular eminence. The miniplate is fixed to the zygomatic arch with miniscrews in order to augment the articular eminence. No postoperative immobilization is required. Although muscular activity cannot be avoided after surgery, no recurrence of dislocation, fracture or loosening of the implants occurred. Results and examples are demonstrated.Entities:
