Inhibition of glucosyltransferase by human salivary immunoglobulin A.

J P Klein, M Schöller, R M Frank.

Abstract

Purified glucosyltransferase isolated from Streptococcus sanguis OMZ 9 and different immunoglobulin A from saliva, saliva pellet, and dental plaque were used to study enzyme-antibody interactions. A strong inhibition of glucosyltransferase activity was obtained with the different immunoglobulin A fractions.
