Abstract
An 18-year-old woman was killed by a single gunshot wound to the head during a high-speed chase on a rural two-lane road. At autopsy, the entrance wound of the calvarium first appeared to be a tangential "keyhole" defect. Upon internal examination, the wound was determined to have been caused by a shotgun sabot slug that had yawed approximately 90 degrees during its flight. The unusual characteristics of the wound and the ammunition are discussed.Entities:
