Abstract
Body appearance is socially valued but at significant risk through surgery and nursing actions. The use of drips, drains and catheters all disrupt body boundaries. It is important to question whether we need to invade such boundaries, and how quickly tubes or lines can be removed to promote dignity. Skin preparation is important for surgical access, infection control and body image. Shaving may not be the soundest approach to depilation.Entities:
