Abstract
An unreactive cardiotocograph late in the mid-trimester led to a sequence of investigations that revealed an appropriately grown fetus, with hepatic calcification, and evidence of intrauterine infection. Ultrasound observation and stimulation of the fetus with vibration and glucose revealed altered neurophysiological responses. The profound neurological impairment was confirmed by detailed neonatal investigations.Entities:
