Abstract
We performed this study in order to verify the existence of a correlation between early platelet count reduction and initial neurological impairment, infarct extension and mortality or clinical outcome in an established ischemic cerebral infarction. The results demonstrate that the platelet consumption and/or accumulation in the infarct area, expressed by circulating platelet decrease, is related to the severity of neurological involvement, infarct size and poor clinical outcome.Entities:
