Intravenous miconazole in the treatment of chronic esophageal candidiasis.

Abstract

Intravenous miconazole monotherapy for 3 weeks cured a 67-year-old patient with a 2-year history of esophageal candidiasis. Polymorphonuclear leukocytes from this patient demonstrated impaired phagocytic capacity for Candida albicans.
