Studies on the constituents of Tinospora sinensis; I. Separation and structure of the new phenolic glycoside tinosinen.

M Yonemitsu1, N Fukuda, T Kimura.

Abstract

A new phenolic glycoside, tinosinen (1), was isolated from the fresh stems of Tinospora sinensis Merr. The structure was established on the basis of acid hydrolysis and spectral data (IR, NMR, mass) as (E)-1-(3-hydroxy-1-propenyl)-3,5-dimethoxyphenyl 4-O-beta-D-apiofuranosyl-(1-->3)-beta-D-glucopyranoside.
