Abstract

This article briefly reviews some recent advances in the understanding of the immunological basis of peripheral neuropathies. Peripheral neuropathies associated with paraproteinaemia, though rare, have proven paradigmatic, some of the insights gained being applicable to the more common Guillain-Barré syndrome.
