Psychosocial impact of end-stage renal disease.

A Killingworth.

Abstract

Renal dysfunction has a profound physical, psychological, social and sexual impact. The impact of end-stage renal disease can be interpreted in terms of crisis theory and interventions planned. Factors predicting non-adherence to therapy can be isolated and managed in order to promote adherence. The challenge of renal disease can be met by a collaborative multidisciplinary approach.
