Abstract
The ribosomal DNA locus of Tetrahymena thermophila undergoes a dramatic series of developmentally regulated processing events to generate the amplified rDNA minichromosome during formation of the somatic macronucleus. DNA transformation and classical genetic approaches have identified cis-acting elements that regulate rDNA processing in the developing macronucleus and subsequent vegetative rDNA maintenance.Entities:
