Abstract
We report a case of disseminated herpes zoster in a pregnant patient positive for the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Disseminated zoster was the first manifestation of HIV infection in this patient. In HIV-positive patients, zoster may be complicated by cutaneous dissemination, visceral involvement, and death. Intravenous acyclovir may prevent serious sequelae in both mother and fetus.Entities:
