Abstract
The right ventricular outflow tract was reconstructed in patients with tetralogy of Fallot using a wide transannular patch bearing a large unicuspid or bicuspid valve. The shape of the valve was designed to limit the degree of pulmonary regurgitation. The characteristics of the valve and the water-repellent nature of the polytetrafluoroethylene sheet make calcification and pseudointimal formation less common than with traditional bioprosthetic valves.Entities:
