Aspects of abnormal illness behaviour.

Abstract

This paper reviews in detail the concept of abnormal illness behaviour. Recent developments in relation to criteria for diagnosis are discussed. Newer approaches to management are described, with particular attention to controlled trials. The need for a 'transition phase' of therapy is emphasized.
