Abstract
In a retrospective study, 20 of 379 patients (5.2%) with cancer of the oral cavity developed second malignant tumors (SMT) at various sites. The diagnosis of SMT was made with an average delay of 49.2 months. In view of the increasing incidence of SMT after curative treatment of oral cancer, the use of chemopreventive drugs should be considered.Entities:
