Abstract
We investigated the association of age with supine and ambulant plasma osmolality (pOSM) and arginine vasopressin (AVP). Twenty-eight healthy-status-defined subjects were studied. Following an overnight fast, blood samples were withdrawn after one hour supine rest and two hours' ambulation. Neither supine nor ambulant pOSM nor AVP varied significantly with age. The results suggest that in healthy subjects age does not influence plasma osmolality or AVP.Entities:
