Abstract
Parenteral nutrition was instituted in a malnourished woman with a low serum phosphorus. In spite of a moderate phosphorus intake, the serum phosphorus descended to very low levels before returning to a normal range. Over a three week period she was troubled by paraesthesias, numbness, and a generalised weakness. The cause was thought to be hypophosphataemia.Entities:
