Abstract
This study finds a significant difference in the compensation levels of public and private hospital CEOs. The difference, however, is not found to be associated with ownership structure. Rather, it is attributable to hospital characteristics such as size, location, and affiliation with a multihospital chain, and human characteristics such as gender, education, and experience.Entities:
