Abstract
The posterior transsphincteric approach was used in the surgery of the rectum for 18 patients. They included 7 patients with rectal cancer, 7 villous adenoma malignant change 4, 1 carcinoid, and 3 benign stenosis, parasitic granulation and rectocele. The method of the operation and its main poits were described in detail; the indications of the operation were discussed. The anastomosis was influenced by the length, blood supply and cleaning of the proximal colon. Anastomotic leakage and pelvic infection were the main surgical complications.Entities:
