Frapper fort ou frapper doucement: a gram-negative dilemma.

D A Hopkin.

Abstract

Although antibiotics can clear gram-negative organisms from the circulation in a short time, large numbers of patients continue to die from gram-negative shock. Research carried out more than 25 years ago indicates that the replacement of the current antibiotic approach of "frappez fort et vite" by one of "frappez doucement" may reduce the incidence and mortality of gram-negative shock.
