[Obstruction of the small intestine caused by adhesions after appendectomy. Argument for repeated surgery as proposed by Mac Burney].

After appendectomy, mechanical obstruction of the small intestine is often due to local bands. This type of obstruction is classically treated by median laparotomy. We present ten cases of such obstruction treated via the initial gridiron incision, whose advantages are discussed.
