Abstract
A 6-week-old infant was admitted because of anorexia, irritability and convulsions. He was born after an uneventful pregnancy and delivery. He was a normal healthy infant with no previous illnesses and had not been on any medication. The mother's medical history was unremarkable. The convulsions continued during hospitalization and investigation led to the diagnosis of CMV meningoencephalitis, based on the presence of IgM anti-CMV antibodies. He was successfully treated with acyclovir and made an uneventful recovery.Entities:
