Abstract
Over the past year, major advances have been made in understanding the key steps involved in signaling pathways--from receptor tyrosine kinases to ras p21, and on to a cascade of serine/threonine kinases. A chain of specific protein-protein interactions is responsible for signal transduction. Components of the pathway are highly conserved between flies, nematodes and mammals, and constitute a primary signaling device in most cell types.Entities:
