Isolation of a potent allergen from house dust mite by interaction with the lectin tridacnin.

Abstract

Tridacnin, the lectin from the clam, Tridacna maxima, precipitates with house dust mite extracts and provides a simple procedure for obtaining a potent, purified mite allergen. Allergenic activity was investigated using the radioallergosorbent test (RAST).
