Abstract
Fine needle aspiration (FNA) biopsy of a large, deep lobe of a parotid mass revealed a uniform population of small, spindled cells with no distinctive cytologic features. Biopsy and later resection of the mass revealed a myoepithelioma. Myoepithelioma is a rare lesion, occurring most commonly in the parotid gland. To date, the FNA description of myoepithelioma has been limited to one report of a lesion in the breast. We report the FNA findings of this tumor arising in the parotid, with histologic and electron microscopic confirmation.Entities:
