Some aspects of the morphology of insulin-secreting cells.

Abstract

By using a spectrum of microscopical techniques such as thin sectioning, autoradiography, cytochemistry and freeze-etching, it is possible to unravel the main cytological events associated with synthesis, intracellular transport, storage and discharge of the hormone insulin by B-cell of the islet of Langerhans.
