[The use of a nucleolus silver-staining method in assessing the function of the protein-synthesizing apparatus of nerve cells].

D E Korzhevskiĭ, V A Otellin.

Abstract

A high selectivity is the main advantage of argentophilic (Ag-NOR) method in comparison with traditional nucleolar stains. Light and electron microscope studies of the rat large brain show that Ag-NOR technique is suitable for morphometric quantitative determination of neurone activity.
