Abstract
Representatives of the fish family Salmonidae were reported to possess two nonallelic growth hormone (GH)-encoding genes. In addition to those, we found a third GH-like sequence in a chum salmon genomic DNA library. A number of point mutations and large deletions abolished the possibility of expressing this sequence, showing that the chum salmon genomic DNA contains a GH pseudogene besides functional GH genes.Entities:
