Abstract
Porous calcium phosphate ceramics prepared according to the methods of laboratories in Leiden were implanted subcutaneously in rats for 3, 6 and 12 w. No bone formation could be observed. Porous calcium phosphate ceramics prepared according to the methods of laboratories in Sichuan were implanted subcutaneously/intramuscularly in dogs for 1, 3, 5 and 7 months. In particular, ceramics containing alpha-tricalcium phosphate evoked bone formation in the pores of the ceramics. The amount of bone was similar at the different time periods.Entities:
