Steroid receptors in human prostatic cancer a preliminary evaluation.

H J de Voogt, P Dingjan.

Abstract

The determination of steriod-receptors in human prostatic tissue from 68 patients with benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH) and 36 patients with prostatic cancer by the method of cold agargel-electrophoresis is described. The results are discussed in the light of several problems inherent to this assay. There are certain indications that there is a correlation between steroid-receptor values and response to endocrine therapy.
