Abstract
Mycotic aneurysms of the ascending aorta are rare. We report the case of a 38-year-old woman with systemic lupus erythematosus being treated with steroids who presented with a large Neisseria gonorrhoeae ascending aortic aneurysm. She was successfully treated with surgical resection of the aneurysm and prolonged postoperative antibiotic therapy.Entities:
