Abstract
Rhabdomyolysis is a clinical syndrome that results from the release of skeletal muscle cell contents, specifically myoglobin, into the plasma. While the precise pathogenesis of rhabdomyolysis is not clearly understood, rhabdomyolysis has been implicated as a major cause of acute renal failure. This article will serve as a comprehensive guide for nephrology nurses. A partial review of the literature, pathophysiology/etiologic factors, diagnosis, clinical presentation, and nursing interventions/treatment will be provided.Entities:
