Abstract
A case of rupture of the spleen is described secondary to dengue 1 fever in an adult patient. This exceptional complication occurred during an outbreak of dengue in French Polynesia. After failure of conservative management, splenectomy was performed. Examination of the surgical specimen confirmed softening and enlargement organ with the formation of a subcapsular hematoma.Entities:
