Correction of aortico-left ventricular tunnel in a small Oriental infant: a brief clinical review.

Y F Chen1, C C Chiu, J R Wu.

Abstract

In reviewing 56 cases of aortico-left ventricular tunnel from 39 reported articles, none of the patients operated on were Oriental. In this report, a 4 month-old male infant was successfully operated on. The tunnel was closed with a Dacron patch on the aortic orifice. The child is now free from symptoms, except for mild residual aortic regurgitation, and is developing normally 5 year-11 month after repair. A brief clinical review has been attempted in these reported cases.
