Murine low-affinity receptors for the Fc portion of IgG. Roles in cell activation and ligand internalization.

C Bonnerot1, S Amigorena.

Abstract

The low-affinity receptors for the Fc portion of IgG (Fc gamma R) are expressed on most of the cells of the immune system. They bind immune complexes but not monomeric IgG. These receptors are a family of surface glycoproteins with homologous extracellular domains and different transmembrane and cytoplasmic portions. This paper review the biological activities of Fc gamma R and focus on the molecular analysis done for the murine receptors involved in cell activation and ligand internalization.
